Generally speaking, an event is any activity that requires you to make arrangements before the program can actually take place. It may be anything from an introductory meeting, educational-related activities, promotions, civic events or study break to a concert, film, or a dramatic performance. This list isn’t an exhaustive one, but as the examples illustrate, special events may be business related, purely social or somewhere in between.
Planners of an event may handle any or all of the following tasks related to that event: conducting research, creating an event design, finding a site, arranging for food, décor and entertainment, planning transportation to and from the event, sending invitations, arranging accommodation, supervising at the site, evaluations of the event, etc. How many of these activities you engage in will depend on the size and type of a particular event, which will, in turn, depend on the specialization you choose.
SUI GENERIS Events pulled out some tools to help you out with your future events and functions.
